Schumann Quartet is „Artiste étoile“ 2018 at the Mozartfest Würzburg

14Feb

For the first time a chambermusic ensemble is „Artiste étoile“ at the Mozartfest Würzburg. In eight concerts in different formations the Schumann Quartet can be listened and it will leave his artistic DNA: Innovative programmes have been invented and the Quartet will take part at the 'MozartLabor' and teach the subject “Chambermusic”.

The Mozartfest will take place from 25th May til 24th June.

The composer potrait in the season of the festival is dedicated to Arvo Pärt, who has also worked with the Schumann Quartet closely: in Talinn they elaborated on his work “Fratres”, which is also on the current CD “Landscapes”. This CD got the German Record Critics’ Annual Prize in 2017.

The festive opening of the Mozartfest will be held in the Kaisersaal of the Würzburger Residenz with Camerata Salzburg under Hartmut Haenchen (25/26 May). They will place the chamber concert for clarinet, string quartet and string orchestra by K. A. Hartmann.
